ABSTRACT
As strong growth centers new capital cities attract large population from places across their countries but accommodated only few. While the teeming accommodated population are spilled over to their neighboring towns. Developed in an area far removed from an existing urban center, the lack of adequate accommodation is one of the major problems associated with the development of Abuja as the new Federal Capital City of Nigeria. Thus majority of the unaccommodating population are spilled over Suleja, Abuja's most important neighboring town. Due to its role as the absorber of majority of the migrants centrifugally repulsed from the new Federal Capital City, the impact of various stages of Abuja's development are directly felt in Suleja, resulting in a tremendous change in the dimension of Suleja's physical development which would not have been possible in the absence of the Abuja project. The above phenomenon generated both problems as well as opportunities to Suleja with the problems for out weighing the opportunities.
